Currently, Alexey Novikov is the director of the Institute for Physics of Microstructures RAS and the head of the Laboratory of Molecular Beam Epitaxy of Semiconductor Heterostructures. Dr. A. Novikov graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State University in 1992. He defended his PhD thesis in 2001 and habilitation (Dr. Sci.) thesis in 2021. His main research interests are in the epitaxy of silicon-germanium-based heterostructures for optoelectronics and quantum computing, as well as the formation of III-nitrides heterostructures for near-IR light sources. Dr. A. Novikov is the author of more than 200 articles in these scientific fields.
